Whether you're in the market to replace your flooring now or are gathering information for a future project, we are here to assist you.

To make a sound selection, we recommend to keep in mind the following:

  • Maintenance and proper care is extremely important. Selecting the right products andd following the maintenace guidelines for the type of flooring that you choose, is very important.

  • Keep in mind the type of lifestyle and the needs of your household, including pets, when selecting your new flooring versus the trend and in-style.

Laminate Flooring:

Laminate is an engineered product & it has a photo of wood (or stone or any other material) and has a a protective plastic coating. The substrate of laminate flooring typically consists of dense fiberboard.

  • The protective topcoat is extremely resistant to scratches and dents, making laminate one of the most durable flooring options. It’s also among the least expensive type of flooring & it comes either glue down or floating.

Vinyl Flooring:

Vinyl is the fastest-growing category of flooring. It ranges from inexpensive, to luxury vinyl tile (or LVT, for short) which consists of multiple layers, including a design layer with a high-definition printed image, a durable top layer and several cushion layers.

  • This type of material is very affordable. All vinyl resists stains, scratches and dents, plus its waterproof, making it safe for basements, kitchens and bathrooms. LVT is a thick, sturdy tile that has the look and feel of real wood. They come in 6MIL, 12MIL and 20MIL. Some brands have also options for the outerlayer in 22MIL or 24MIL.

SPC Flooring:

SPC flooring is luxury vinyl plank or tile flooring with a stone-plastic composite core. Also known as rigid core or engineered vinyl flooring, it’s manufactured in four or five layers, depending on whether the backing is foam or cork.

  • The backing is often added for comfort and insulation. SPC is thinner than typical WPC because stone is denser than wood. A wear layer protects the design layer, resisting scratches and damage from ultraviolet light. It comes in a variety of designs mimicking various types of hardwood, stone and tile.

Carpet Flooring:

Carpet is the most comfortable & cost-effective type of flooring material. It is available in a wide variety of colors and patterns.

  • With proper care and maintenace, carpet will last. The only downside is it holds dirt & dusts. For allegry sufferers is not a good option.

Tile Flooring:

There are two main types of tile flooring: ceramic & porcelain. Ceramic is typically made from a mixture of water & sand, making it softer yet more affordable. Porcelain is made from a finer, denser clay and fired at a higher temperature, so it’s naturally harder and less porous.

  • Tile floors are available in countless colors & design configurations. Also, they come in various sizes and are also used for bathroom/shower walls as well as accent walls. All tile ae water-proof & low-maintenance. Porcelain tile is extremely hard-wearing and resistant to scratches and dents.

What to consider when choosing flooring for your home?

Many homeowners when selecting flooring focus on the look & price, but sometimes do not think what it will be like to live with the material over the long term. Here are some points that are needed to weigh in to make a smart decision:

✔️ Comfort: How will it feel & what will it be standing on the floor for long periods of time? Flooring materials that offer a softness underfoot, like LVP/SPC & carpet, will be much more comfortable than tile. In rooms where you do a lot of standing like the kitchen, laundry & bathroom, comfort is critical. Carpet & LVP/SPC is considered for bedrooms and stairway.

✔️ Maintenance: Floors that are just installed, look beautiful. What you need to think about is what you would have to do to keep them looking that way for years to come. SPC/LCP, laminate and carpet are easy to care for. Materials that need to be sealed, like stone & linoleum, are much higher maintenance. Tile grout needs to be maintained and sometimes re-grouted.
